Day 441… Sporty Sunday ⚽️

It was a slow start for the day but luckily the Brits had coffee, crumpets and a couch. After the pair repacked, checked and rechecked… they devoured a Full British Brekki. Then the Scot had been called up to play for his old Football/Soccer Club. He was unsure how he would perform with a full belly.

The Brits kindly dropped the Scot, the Kiwi and their bags to the football club and farewelled.

It was a great catch up with mates in the rain. The Kiwi and Aussie mates managed to stop the match for walking along the pitch while the Scot scored the winning goal. The Scottish mates also caught up with the pair.

They headed to the shitty… dropped bags off and headed out to watch the Scot’s team play and also win.

An early morning Hungry Jack snack before they retired to their new home.

Day 440… That’s a wrap!

The day had arrived to finalise the end of another housesit. The Scot and Kiwi scampered around packing while the fur roomies watched on.

Back on the road… the clouds became darker and rain arrived. Melbourne was preparing for the return of the duo.

The closer the Mighty Corolla neared to Melbourne, the busier the roads became and the more impatient the fellow road user became. The Scot declared ‘ that’s the end of another weekend, back to reality’. It had been 440 days since the Mighty Corolla boarded the Tasmania Ferry to begin the adventure around Australia.

While it poured with rain, the pair emptied the Mighty Corolla treasures into the storage shed and repacked their bags for the next adventure.

They drove to the Mighty Corolla’s new home for the next few months and caught up with their British friends.

After a quick change it was onto the train to catch up with other mates in the shitty. A night with laughter, hugs and gossip.

Day 439… Friday Fun

The temperature had dropped and the Fur Roomies were happy to run around the yard barking to the neighbour’s dog.

It was the ideal Day to head to the big smoke for a final catch up with family. They had introduced the Kiwi to an Ice Mocha… chocolate plus coffee equal caffeine buzz. There was a stroll around the local lake before farewells.

Back at HQ, the Fur Roomies were overcome by emotions that the duo had returned. There was time for ball games, scratches and a walk.

As it was the final night, confirmed by the House Owners. Bags were packed, cleaning continued and Takeaway noodles purchased.

The final leg back to Melb was near.

Day 436… Trashy Tuesday

The younger Fur Roomie knocked twice on the garage door before the Scot welcomed her into the house. The wee pensioner fur roomie continued to count sheep.

One of the Kiwi’s favourite days had arrived…trash/rubbish day. She happily checked in her bins on the curb and waited eagerly. The Kiwi was Living one of her dreams.

The trash and rubbish was sent off in their respective trucks and it was time to take the Fur Roomies out for a walk.

The rest of the day involved… Library Club, Social Media Club, Research Countries Club, Fur Roomie Ball Club and Fill In The Day Club.

☎️ It was a wonderful surprise to have the Macedon Cats Netball Coach call for a catch up with the Kiwi.

Day 433… SaturYAY

The Fur roomie clock woke the Scot and Kiwi just before the sun rose. After greetings it was outside to patrol the yard. The duo enjoyed a cuppa with the radio on in the background.

As the Scot and Kiwi had planned an excursion to Shepparton, it was a walk for the fur roomies to release some youthful and pensioner energy.

On the way to the big smoke the Scot spied a sunbaked snake on the road. Before long he yelped when an orange minibeast landed on his head and fell into his lap. The Kiwi could not contained her laughter.

After the excitement had subsided there was more excitement to meet up with their Canadian Nephew and Girlfriend. A great afternoon with food, coffee and exploring the local Parks.

Once back to HQ, the fur roomies showed off their ball skills, poo skills and affection skills.

A quiet night to enjoy the Scot’s day of Netflix choices…Hector.

Day 430… Wednesday

Another day back on the road in Victoria, the Scot and Kiwi decided to have an egg roll that filled the belly for the short drive ahead.

Sights seen or heard from the Mighty Corolla…

Long roads, railway crossings, thriving country towns, ghosts towns and static A.M radio.

A stop in Echuca to visit the Thong (Jandal) Tree, Paddle Steamers on the Murray River and the Historic Port.

New area and new home for the next fortnight… Kyabram. To make a good impression, the Mighty Corolla had a scrub and shower. The McMiniature was set up for the last time for a while before the Scot and Kiwi met the new Fur Roomies. Unfortunately, the Scaled Roomies had passed away.

A return to McMinature and the highlight for the Scot was a Fire Pit. The Scot and Kiwi met a couple from the Netherlands who were beginning a Lap of Oz. As the Scot and Kiwi were almost at the end of their journey, they decided to pass on the Camps guide and Lonely Planets to help them on their trip.

Day 428…New home

It was an early rise as the Kiwis were booked to return to Aotearoa. The Scot and Kiwi decided to spend one more night in Adelaide to prepare to hit the road on Tuesday.

They decided to return to Adelaide Foreshore Big 4 so that they could watch the Kiwis take off while they sipped on refreshments.

It was decided a wee 3.2km walk to Glenelg would be the perfect remedy for the duo. They had also arranged to meet their Melbourne Mates ( Brits/Poms) who were exploring the Public Transport System.

They took the Scot and Kiwi on the Tram to MacDoodles and a last hops in the Burbs of Adelaide. They farewelled each other… the mates had a 30ish stop bus ride while the Scot and Kiwi tramed and walk.

Day 427… Easter and Celebration 🎉

After a comfy sleep in the hotel, the duo headed down for their continental breakfast only to be surprised at a full buffet hot breakfast on offer. They stuffed their faces with sausage, egg, mushrooms and bacon.

With the Mighty Corolla safely parked away, the duo joined their Pommy Friends for a wander around the botanical gardens and city. As it was the Kiwi’s birthday she was treated to a pub lunch and a beer with the Scot handling driving duties for later.

They farewelled the Poms and made their way to the accommodation in the Adelaide suburb of Prospect. After a few birthday hops in the garden with the visiting Kiwis, they decided to head over to the visitors cousins house for a wee chat and more drinks.

With darkness firmly descended and the hour late, the three Kiwis and one Scot ambled back to the house for a nightcap and some much needed shuteye.

Day 426… Visitors in the Shitty Saturday

The day had arrived to farewell the Roomies, super clean the house and prepare for an exciting day ahead.

In the past the Scot and Kiwi had been stung with limited shops open over public holidays so they stocked up on supplies. However, Adelaide shitty surprised them with Woolworths and variety of other shops open as usual.

Once they arrived at Holiday Inn Express… the duo was having a posh bed for the night. It was time to: park up the Mighty Corolla, freshen up and prepare for fun and games with Kiwis and British friends.

It was a night filled with laughter, adventure and catching up with good mates.
